Best Bets of the Day – Saturday, November 24th 2018

Tottenham v Chelsea
Premier League  – BT Sport 1
5.30pm

The London derby is the big feature match of the day in the Premier League as Chelsea make the short trip across the capital to Wembley to face Spurs. A big showdown it is too inside the top four. The Blues are sat in third place, one point ahead of their rivals and are defending their unbeaten start to the season. Will Tottenham, who are on a W9 D0 L3 record for the season, be the ones to stop them in their tracks or will the Blues simply go marching on? Last season’s league meetings both produced an away win and Chelsea have only lost two of their last eight against Spurs in all competitions.

But they are catching a Tottenham side carrying a four-match winning streak in all competitions. So this could be a humdinger and well worth its place in our Best Bets of the Day. Chelsea have been an attacking revolution this season under Maurizio Sarri. Spurs will bring the scoring threat of Harry Kane to the table. Which will win out? There has been over 2.5 goals in all but one of Chelsea’s last six games on the road and all but one of the last six between the two rivals have gone over the goal line. Odds of 4/6 are generally available at leading bookmakers for over 2.5 goals. It wouldn’t be any surprise to see goals light up Wembley on Saturday evening as these two strong sides slug it out.

Brentford v Middlesbrough
Championship – 5.30 pm
Sky Sports

They may be a bottom half of the table team in the Championship, but Brentford have pieced together a good season at Oakwell. The Bees hold a W5 D2 L1 record on home soil and it is going to be interesting to see how they handle the visit of Middlesbrough. Will they be able to frustrate points out of the visitors? Boro are up in third place in the Championship table heading into the weekend, cruising along on a five-match unbeaten streak of form. They boast the best defensive record in the second tier, a remarkable show of defensive strengths from Tony Pulis’ men who have conceded just eight goals. It should be an intriguing show of simply which defence comes out on top as Boro look to keep up the pressure in the title race.

England v Australia
International Rugby 3:00 pm
BBC Two

The Red Rose were denied what would have been a thrilling success over the All Blacks last time out at Twickenham. That was after a dramatic late finish in a victory over South Africa. So the English will be feeling a bit happier about their lot after having had a poor year by their standards. They will look to round off their autumn action in style as they face up to their old rivals Australia in a game which they are 3/10 odds to win on home soil. The Wallabies opened their autumn action in the northern hemisphere with a narrow defeat against Wales. They had more of a chance to cut loose as they put out a 26-7 win over Italy last weekend after Adam Ashley-Cooper got a surprise recall. Now it’s on to Twickenham for them as they look to find some positives after putting up just four wins in their last fourteen matches. Australia are a general 14/5 odds at top bookmakers to pull off the upset.

Denis Lebedev v Mike Wilson
Boxing – 7.00 pm
SkySports

Russian Denis Lebedev steps into the ring on Saturday night as strong odds-on favourite to win. He will be squaring off against American Mike Wilson under the bright lights in Monte Carlo. It’s been a strange time of things for Lebedev who is still working his way back from that 2016 December defeat against Murat Gassiev where he lost his IBF cruiserweight title. He has only had the three fights in the last two years. There are no belts on the line on Saturday. The unbeaten Wilson makes his way to fight outside of the USA for just the second time in his career and leading bookmakers have him as the clear underdog at 8/1 odds. It is a career in which he has won eight of his nineteen fights by a knockout. It’s going to be a matter of height and youth of Wilson against the experience and power of Lebedev. It could be quite the duel to stay up for.

It’s another big weekend of sporting action, keep up to date with the live action and odds at the live bets section!
