Big Bets Bobby’s Take on the Yunier Dorticos Vs Mateusz Masternak Fight!

Last weekend saw a 1/40 bet lose, as Lewis Ritson lost a split decision to Francesco Patera in a competitive fight in Newcastle. This shock is a good example to highlight how often the bookies get it wrong when it comes to boxing; something we will continue to look to take advantage of for boxing’s biggest bouts.

This weekend sees action from Chicago and Orlando dominate the headlines with world championships up for grabs, along with a place in the semi-finals of the second World Boxing Super Series cruiserweight tournament.

Dorticos is having a second stab at the Muhammad Ali trophy after losing in the semi-final to Murat Gassiev in season one of the World Boxing Super Series. The former WBA (Regular) cruiserweight champion has only that one defeat on his record, after stringing together 22 wins previously.

The heavy handed Cuban is facing Mateusz Masternak; a standby for the last season of the WBSS cruisers. Masternak has put together five wins at the 200lbs limit after his loss to Tony Bellew in 2015, however, the level of his opponents has struggled to reach the heights of the former WBC cruiserweight champion.

Dorticos can bang, and with Masternak already suffering defeat by TKO at the heavy hands of Grigory Drozd in 2013, the KO Doctor will fancy his chances of stopping the Pole. I would agree with that assumption. Dorticos showed his power to full effect in crushing Dmitry Kudryashov in last year’s quarter-final; expect similar this time around.

Matchroom’s show in Chicago has suffered a hit due to the withdrawal of Billy Joe Saunders from the main event. The British world champion failed a VADA drugs test for a drug found in a nasal spray, and has been replaced by Walter Kautondokwa. His opponent, Demetrius Andrade, is expected to walk through his last minute replacement, with odds of 1/20 not worth the risk.

The fight that is worth a look at, however, is Tevin Farmer vs James Tennyson. Tennyson, from Belfast Northern Ireland, is attempting to claim the IBF super-featherweight crown off of Farmer in his first defence since winning the strap against Billy Dib in August.

Tennyson is up against it. With two losses on his record, the Belfast boy may be too green for this step up, and has been flung into the limelight after an impressive fifth round TKO against Martin J Ward back in May.

This looks like one that could go the distance, with Farmer winning it wide.

Occupation: Retired miner

Some people call me Big Bets Bobby, I don’t see myself that way – just a disciplined sports bettor.

I used to be a foreman in Germany’s once-great coal mining industry & retired in 2008 when it was clear that Germany’s coal mines were going to close down. My life changed in a big way when I took early retirement at 45 in 2008. There was no way I could have the kind of lifestyle I wanted on my small pension, so I started betting on sports full-time. I was no stranger to betting; I started betting football & basketball in my thirties with betandwin & Intertops…made some money but nothing big. I knew the basics about betting but was no professional! That changed fast! I opened up betting accounts with 8 bookmakers and spent at least 16 hours a day betting from 2009 until 2011. There were some painful times, but I broke through strong by 2012 and haven’t looked back.

One cautionary note – I wouldn’t recommend trying to make money betting sports unless you’re going to do it full-time. Even then, 8 out of 10 guys don’t make enough money to live on. If you are running into trouble with sports betting I recommend you visit this page to make sure you’re not getting in over your head! See here >> RESPONSIBLE GAMING LINK

I built SCP to keep myself out of trouble! My programmer, Otto, suggested I build a website to give me something to do as I get older. He says I can’t just bet, drink beer & party for the rest of my life. I think Otto is right 😉 You get to your mid-fifties and the body doesn’t recover before 7 am! Otto built many internet betting tools for me going back to 2011 that helped me bet on an industrial scale & make BIG money! I must also give him credit for SportsCampionPredictor.com! Otto engineered the website and now it is up to me and my friends to make big betting on sports championships fun for the online sports wagering community!

Bet Big!
